LET THE FIRE BURN!

Psalm 68: Sing to God, sing praises to His name;
Extol Him who rides on the clouds,
By His name Yah,
And rejoice before Him.

God has a plan for South Africa.

The purpose is to bring South Africa out of her terrible state of lawlessness, anarchy, brokenness, death and decay. Over the last 40 years, a multitude of prophetic word has been spoken regarding God’s plans and purposes for the country.

As believers, we have to stand in faith and trust in the Word for SA as spoken by the Lord. It is a word that SA will be on fire again for the Lord, and that South Africa will be a blessing to other nations.

Indeed, God wants South Africa to have an upper room experience, so that we can walk in the fire and conviction of the Holy Spirit to the glory of God. And as the fire again burns in our hearts, the Lord has showed that He will then begin to send those from this country to other nations where His fire will burn to His Glory.

And so over the years, the Lord has showed this ‘revival’, or ‘awakening’, to be like a River of His Glory flowing throughout the land, or as a fire than burns in many cities. The Lord has showed many this move of holiness, refinement and purity. Some have seen the fire primarily burning in the Cape and others have seen it in multiple cities. Yes, God wants the dry bones to come alive again! He wants this nation to live to His Glory.

Lighthouse Radio was called to life for this exact reason – to preach and teach God’s uncompromised Word to prepare the Church and the nation for the move of God. Lighthouse Ministries International along with Avishua Ministries, along with other partnering ministries such as Heart Cry, truly believe in this move and that it will definitely happen. And so we keep speaking life, hope, and stand in trust. We will continue to hold prayerathons, praying for this nation, as the Lord leads.

Granted with the rise in voices declaring hope, life and glory, many have decreed such talk is nonsense, rubbish and not of the Lord. Some still see no future for this country, and that we are heading for complete disaster.

Since 1994 many have spoken words of doom and gloom, ‘prophesying’ war and violence. Such doom and gloom has not yet manifested in terms of civil war, because God’s hand it upon this nation.

We all know the current state of South Africa in 2018. It is a land of idolatry, corruption, death, violence, lawlessness and murder. Question is, are we walking by faith or by sight? Israel was in bondage for more than 400 years and received a word of liberty. They must surely not have believed it, and so they did not heed the Word of God because of their anguish and slavery (Exodus 6:9).

Yes, here in South Africa many do feel like they are slaves to fear, to death and violence, losing hope and faith, but we have a decision to make: Are we going to heed the Word of God despite our anguish or are we trusting in what we see and our current climate?

When Judah was taken into captivity, Jeremiah told the people not to resist the rule of Babylon, for the Lord will set them free after 70 years. Many surely did not believe the prophet because they were in slavery and suffered anguish, yet the Lord did free them after seven decades. For 70 years, many would have looked at their surroundings, anguished by the suffering just like the Israelites in the days of Moses. They were surrounded by idols, by paganism, death and chaos. Yet God prevailed. Yes, we are also surrounded by Babylon, and our hearts grow faint and the suffering is great, but God has spoken of deliverance, as He spoke to Moses. Shall we believe or shall we not heed His Word?

We also need to realise and understand that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. God’s plan for South Africa is not for a specific tribe or people to be set free, and for another tribe or people to be judged, but God has a plan for the nation as a whole. The barbarity, violence, theft, destruction and chaos we witness is part of the terrible spiritual war, yet in this war we must take up the whole armour of God so that we may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

And yes, in the midst of Babylon, as the nation’s rage and the believers are at a breaking point in the furnace of trials, we need to remind ourselves of Psalm 23: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

The reality at this moment of time, however, is that the Church in South Africa is still struggling with apostasy, idolatry and spiritual adultery. In the midst of Babylon the Church is still struggling to come of the state of Babylon. So there is a time of refinement and purification, where foundations are shaken, so that the Church may arise and in the power of God begin to rebuild the ruins of lives.

May we continue to pray for this land, pray for God’s will to be done and heed His Word. It might not be easy, and yes, anguish, slavery and suffering may seem great and vexing, but let us trust, and walk in faith and not by sight. For our liberty shall come, and by the Blood of the Lamb the Destroyer shall eventually pas by as we turn our gaze to God and a promised hope.
